Laurel Feddema
Steppingstone Consulting, Inc. was founded in 2004 by Laurel Feddema.  Laurel has deep management-level experience in Community Affairs, Strategy Development, Marketing and Communications, Sponsorship & Events and Community Partnerships. Her Fortune 500 executive background gives her first-hand understanding of corporate clients’ perspectives and business goals -- and a shortcut to recognizing customer, executive and employee needs.  Her extensive work with non profits fosters insight into community organizations that are deeply mission driven.   The firm's clients include some of the Midwest's biggest corporations as well as established and emerging non profits.

Laurel directed Community Relations Marketing for Marshall Field’s, designing and marketing community relations activities—sponsorships, grants and outreach programs--in its eight-state territory.  

Before joining Marshall Field’s/Target Corporation in 2002, Laurel held a variety of leadership positions in Marketing and Corporate Relations at hospitality and financial services companies, including U.S. Bancorp where she was Senior Vice President of Sponsorship & Event Marketing and Vice President of Community Relations.  She served as President of the U.S. Bancorp Foundation for three years, and prior to that as Vice President in several Marketing areas. 

Laurel holds an M.B.A. in Management from the University of St. Thomas and a B.A. in Journalism and PR from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota.  Her non profit board service has included MAP for Nonprofits, the Citizens League, LISC and Washburn Center for Children.  She has also taught Sports Marketing to graduate students and been a national speaker on Sponsorship Marketing.
